That's quite odd.

One possibility: the strip list is parsed the same as the poison list,
so you need to be adding file globs, not just extension types. If you
want to strip all EXE files you need "*.exe" in the strip list, not
".exe" or "exe".

No, it must be on the mangle list to be stripped.
