I think you got confused - that looks like a moment of Zeus?

The zen is to contemplate on how thankful you are that you weren't under that!

I'm reading Lee Boyland's book Behold, an Ashen horse. An ominous coincidence!

Yeah, I'd seen that, but it's still impressive.

I love thunderstorms. That is truly awesome!

As I started to scroll down the page, my initial thought was: "EXPLOSION!!!!" and I hoped it was a pic of a Predator strike in Afghanistan.

Imagine my disappointment when it was just a lousy thunderstorm.

Bah.

*sigh* It has been a year since we have had a good, rip-roaring thunderstorm... incessant, pissing rain is pretty much the industry standard for water redistribution in E. TN.

I blame AlGore.

I live on the gulf coast. I can see a sight like this pretty much any day, lately... only without all the red.

Very cool pic though. Maybe one of the reasons I still live down here is cos I never tire of thunderstorms.

If it were big enough, that'd make one hell of a wallpaper

Nice pic, but PhotoShopped

Look at the cloud formations lower right and upper left of the lightning

Come on observers, observe !

What can I tell ya, I was too busy enjoying it to bother analyzing it.

jsid-1257176045-614724  Crotalus at Mon, 02 Nov 2009 15:34:05 +0000

"lousy thunderstorm"???

Whassamatayou, Kim? Some of the more violent ones can be an "explosion" that lasts from 30 minutes to several hours! Talk about an adrenaln rush!

jsid-1257176278-614725  Crotalus at Mon, 02 Nov 2009 15:37:58 +0000

O.K., it's Photoshopped. The four purple clouds are the same one, and the lightning looks Photoshopped too. Still a really cool picture.

jsid-1257219408-614760  Kevin Baker at Tue, 03 Nov 2009 03:36:48 +0000

OhioDude, this one is photochopped too, but it's still a damned nice image.
