Great minds? I admit, that while coming across the new "salute" thing over at this Fark photoshop contents, I immediately thought of goatse. In fact, I'm surprised that didn't show up there.
I couldn't use the hands in the picture you provided because the quality was too low, and my photoshop fu isn't strong enough to deal with it, so I found a similar thumbs down hand on the interwebs and used that instead.

All avatars and any images or other media embedded in comments were hosted on the JS-Kit website and have been lost;
