I actually just watched Serenity for the fourth time not three days ago. The Operative is a perfect example of an extreme leftist mindset. "We're building a better world...all of them".

and yes, Mal's line at the end is the best in the film, with the possible exception of Jayne's reply to the guard in the vault (although that's not really a spoken line per se)
