In December, a gun-wielding man robbed Perata of his sporty state-leased car at a red light in North Oakland.

"Nothing brings it home like having a gun pointed 6 inches from your face," he said.

And I'm sure the man who carjacked Mr. Pereta has since relinquished his gun in the buyback to do his part in helping end this gun violence.

Kudos Mr. Pereta!

Remember when PD's used to sell guns to raise funds?

Oh that's right, they still do--in rural America, just not in the cities.

I just can't figure out how come guns cause violence gun crime in cities, but don't cause it elsewhere.

Maybe cities should be illegal?

Perata is a noxious turd who's time is short, he's being termed-out finally despite a last-ditch effort to reinvent term-limits to mean nothing that thankfully failed.
The car from which he was 'jacked was an gubbmint-issue '06 candy-apple red Dodge Charger with 20-inch rims. What a low-class POS.

Oh, no, no, no, you have to understand - Perata didn't get his CCW to defend himself from criminals. He got it defend himself against RKBA activists - that was his STATED NEED when he applied, and he defended that stance for years after.

Thank cthluhu that term limits have finally ended his state political career.
