Zumbo's retraction/apology/backpedal is I Was Wrong, Big Time.

Thanks Jed. I'd found it and was modifying the post when you commented.

It's the Feiler Faster Theorem applied to seeing how fast one can cause one's career to self-destruct.

I think that Remington's CEO's reply in the comments to his original post -- in which the CEO pointedly hung Zumbo out to dry and explicitly stated he'd be reassessing their relationship -- says volumes, not just for what it said, but how quickly Remington said it. Good for them!

Tell Zumbo to be sure to attend the annual meeting in St. Louis this year. Hell have him at the front door greeting everyone. Make sure he wears a big nametag.

Oh, I've GOT to find THAT one!

It was simply difficult to believe that out of the clear blue, Zumbo decides to drop such a bomb. If indeed Remington "reassesses", then fine. My opinion is at least as valid as Zumbo's when I say that Remington will not see a dime of my money as long as they sponser an anti. It's his thoughts and words, and my money. And by the way, the "apology" was awful. He basically said that it was his opinion and he was told he could offer his opinion at will.More power to the man. I still find it hard to think that at his age and level of experience he doesn't understand what the 2nd is all about.

Wasn't there some question as to the myspace site being a true Brady Campaign site?

jsid-1171866002-551215  Saladman at Mon, 19 Feb 2007 06:20:02 +0000

I'm pretty sure the Brady Campaign MySpace page is a fake. Zumbo's post is basically all its got up on it, they only have 5 friends, it doesn't link to the Brady Campaign website and the Brady Campaign website doesn't link to it. What graphics it has could have been copied off the official website.

I'm sure this will be quoted by the gun-banners eventually, but I suspect the MySpace page and quotation is one of our side getting the boot in.

And I always thought the AR-15 must have been made for coyote hunting. The bullet is too light for anything bigger...

heh,

it looks like you reposted the exact same "priceless" comment that I did. Out of the hundeds of comments, that one just stuck out.

I think the myspace page is a hoax too, despite the link from the official brady bunch page. I outlined some of the reasons over in the comments on the ten ring.
