Kevin, I tried the comments at The Minority Report.

Given that damn near every other dot MU site I've tried the past two days has been scroood, I think it's dot MU, at least for now.

Still, here's what I would have left with Publicola:

*******************************

The choosing of friends here isn't necessary.

Your work stands on it's own merits, and is at the very least, commendable.

Such a poor word, for such a great and august work.

Now then;

Being a Christian, my agreement will fall to your approach to rights, and the definitions and origins thereof. For me, it cannot be otherwise.

That said, I'm fully with Kevin on his approach on the assertion and lawful acquistion of said rights.

They are indeed, our birthright of God, and of Nature, as you've so ably stated.

Yet as His authority is delegated through Ceaser, if you will, we've that due to pay what is Ceaser's, and to affirm our rights through our Constitution, legislation and hopefully, a wholesale reversal of layers upon layers of erronious jurisprudence in respect thereto.

Notice that I but say "affirm". The rights are indeed, ours already. They are Natural rights, God given, if you will.

Yet, for all that, Paul still appealed to Ceaser.

As was his right.

In the end though, Paul is thought to have been slain for his faith.

We may also find such a fate in the quest to assert our rights. But we will surely suffer such, if we fail in our quest to secure the same.

In short, y'all are both correct.

We either hang together, or surely, we shall hang separately.

Seems I've heard that one somewhere before.....

I tried to drop a comment a few minutes ago, but apperently it didn't take. So from what I recall of what I wrote before...

I have yet begun to suck up... er fight!

But what match could I be fer yer wee little strategically placed fonts? & fonts of various colors ta boot? :P

I appreciate you opening comments to my piece over here. Mu.nu's comment system is down (supposed to have something to do with a spam attack) but hopefully will be up soon. For the record (or would that be CD nowadays?) I don't think I've ever closed comments on my site, unless it was to re-direct them to someone else's post.

& I thought "Absolutist v. Contractualist" was a decent suck up - er, sum up of the different camps. If you have any other suggestions I'm all ears. Or eyes rather.

& despite the work I know it's gonna be (to respond to it) I do look forward to your response.
